Cisco Catalyst 1300-24P-4X is a powerful L3 switch designed for small and medium businesses and branch offices of large companies. It offers 24 Gigabit ports with PoE+ support and a total budget of 195 W, enabling power delivery to IP phones, wireless access points, and IP cameras directly through the network cable. For backbone network connectivity, there are 4 x 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports.
The switch runs on a customized Linux operating system and supports advanced features such as dynamic L3 routing, front-panel port stacking (up to 8 units), comprehensive QoS, and robust security including 802.1X authentication. Management is simplified with Cisco Business Dashboard featuring AI assistant and support for Cisco Network Plug and Play for automated deployment.
Advanced network features
The switch supports RSTP/MSTP/PVST+ for rapid convergence, LACP for aggregation of up to 8 ports, IGMP snooping for multicast optimization, and IPv6 including First Hop Security. Loopback detection and UDLD features protect the network from loops.
Management and monitoring
In addition to Cisco Business Dashboard, CLI with privilege levels 1/7/15 is available, SNMP for integration with NMS systems, RMON for advanced monitoring, sFlow for flow analysis, and port mirroring/RSPAN for diagnostics. Supports syslog, SNTP, and TFTP/SCP for configuration management.
Stacking and high availability
Front-panel port stacking uses 10G SFP+ ports and enables creation of a redundant stack with active/standby controller. Supports cross-stack LAG, QoS, and VLAN across the entire stack. Dual firmware image system ensures safe firmware updates.
