The ZyXEL CX4800-56F switch represents a professional solution for the network aggregation layer with high-density 48× SFP28 ports that support both 10GbE and 25GbE connectivity. For backbone connectivity, it features 8× QSFP28 ports with 100 Gb/s speed, ensuring sufficient capacity even for cross-stack connections. Switching capacity of 4000 Gbps and forwarding rate of 2000 Mpps guarantee seamless operation even at maximum load on all ports.
As a Layer 3 managed switch, it offers advanced features including static routing, VLAN routing with support for up to 256 IP interfaces and routing tables for 12K IPv4 and 1K IPv6 entries. NebulaFlex Pro technology enables flexible management – either locally via web interface or through the cloud. Compact 1U form factor with front-to-back airflow is optimized for rack installation.
High availability and redundancy
The switch is designed with emphasis on maximum operational reliability. Redundant AC power supplies with hot-swap functionality eliminate the risk of outage in case of single power supply failure. Four hot-swappable fan units can be replaced during operation without the need to power down the system. Support for dual configuration files and dual images ensures safe firmware updates. Technologies such as MSTP, LACP, loop guard and CPU protection safeguard the network against outages and ensure business continuity.
Flexible NebulaFlex Pro management
The unique NebulaFlex Pro concept provides freedom of choice between local standalone management via web interface and cloud management through the Zyxel Nebula platform. The mode can be switched at any time according to current needs. Management is possible via SNMP v1/v2c/v3, SSH v2, telnet, or console. ZON Utility enables centralized batch configuration and automatic detection of the latest firmware.
Networked AV mode for AVoIP
Special mode for audio-video applications simplifies the setup of professional AVoIP networks. Intuitive wizard guides through the configuration of network infrastructure with automatic setup of all necessary parameters. Graphical overview of key AV network elements (IGMP, IP information) and simplified functional menu facilitate management and monitoring. The hardware is capable of lossless and latency-free 4K video streaming over 10GbE network, which is ideal for video production companies and broadcasting.
Advanced Layer 3 features
The switch supports IPv4 static route, IPv4 default routing and VLAN routing with up to 256 IP interfaces. Routing table accommodates max. 12K IPv4 and 1K IPv6 entries, L3 forwarding table up to 8K IPv4 and 4K IPv6 entries. Planned features include IPv6 static/default routing, VRRP, Policy Based Route, RIPv1/v2/RIPng, OSPFv2/v3 and ECMPv4/v6.
