The Cisco Catalyst 1200-48P-4G switch offers 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE+ (802.3at) support and a total power budget of up to 375 W, enabling power delivery to wireless access points, IP phones, cameras, and other network devices directly through the Ethernet cable. The switch also features 4 SFP ports for flexible optical module connectivity and network expansion.
The device runs on its own Linux OS operating system and provides advanced features such as Layer 3 static routing, comprehensive security with IEEE 802.1X, ACL, and DoS protection, quality of service QoS with 8 hardware queues, and support for up to 255 VLANs. Management is available through the intuitive Cisco Business Dashboard, mobile application, or web interface with configuration wizards.
Advanced networking features
The switch supports Spanning Tree Protocol (STP, RSTP, MSTP, PVST+, RPVST+) for network redundancy, LACP for link aggregation up to 4 groups of 8 ports, IGMP snooping versions 1/2/3 for efficient multicast, and IPv6 including MLD snooping. The Loopback Detection feature protects the network from loops independently of STP.
Flexible management and automation
The device can be managed through Cisco Business Dashboard with built-in probe, eliminating the need for separate hardware. It supports Cisco Network Plug and Play for automatic deployment, Auto Smartports for automatic port configuration based on connected devices, and Bonjour, LLDP-MED, and Cisco Discovery Protocol for easy device detection on the network.
Security and reliability
The switch offers comprehensive security features including Secure Core Technology, Trustworthy Systems with tamper protection, SSH and SSL for encrypted communication, Port Security for MAC address limiting, Storm Control, and RADIUS authentication support.
