The Cisco Catalyst 1200 Series C1200-8FP-2G switch is an affordable solution designed specifically for the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. It features 8 ports 10/100/1000 Mbps with PoE+ support and a total power budget of 120 W, enabling power delivery to up to 8 devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, or IP cameras directly through the network cable. Additionally, it offers 2 combo Gigabit Ethernet ports with the option to connect SFP modules for fiber optic connections.
The switch is managed through an intuitive web interface, Cisco Business mobile app, or Cisco Business Dashboard cloud portal. It supports advanced features such as Layer 3 static routing, VLANs, QoS, ACLs, and comprehensive security including IEEE 802.1X authentication. The fanless design ensures silent operation ideal for office environments.
Advanced networking features
The switch supports Spanning Tree Protocol (STP, RSTP, MSTP, PVST+) for network redundancy, Link Aggregation (IEEE 802.3ad LACP) up to 4 groups of 8 ports, IGMP snooping for efficient multicast, and LLDP/LLDP-MED for automatic device discovery. Layer 3 features enable network segmentation and inter-VLAN communication without the need for an external router.
Security and management
Implements comprehensive security mechanisms including IEEE 802.1X port authentication, RADIUS support, SSH/SSL encryption, ACLs for traffic filtering, DoS prevention, and storm control. Management is available via HTTPS web interface, CLI (Telnet/SSH), SNMP v1/v2c/v3, Cisco Business Dashboard, or mobile app. The switch supports Cisco Network Plug and Play for easy deployment.
