The Cisco Catalyst 1300-12XS switch represents an advanced solution for network infrastructure with 10× 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports and 2× combo 10G RJ-45/SFP+ ports. The device is equipped with Layer 3 routing supporting up to 7,168 IPv4 routes and 256 IP interfaces, enabling network segmentation and efficient traffic routing without the need for an external router.
The switch runs on a proprietary Linux operating system and is managed through the intuitive Cisco Business Dashboard or mobile application. It supports front-panel port stacking of up to eight units with a switching capacity of 240 Gbps and performance of 178.57 Mpps. To ensure long-term reliability under full 10G load, it features quiet active cooling.
Network Features and QoS
The switch supports 4,094 VLANs, IGMP snooping for up to 4,000 multicast groups, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP, RSTP, MSTP, PVST+), and Link Aggregation (LACP) with up to 8 groups. QoS provides 8 hardware queues with support for strict priority and WRR scheduling, DSCP/CoS remarking, and rate limiting.
Security and Authentication
Advanced security features include IEEE 802.1X authentication with RADIUS/TACACS+, port security, IP Source Guard, Dynamic ARP Inspection, and IPv6 First Hop Security. The switch supports SSH v1/v2, SSL/HTTPS, and ACL with up to 2,048 rules for traffic filtering based on MAC, IP, VLAN, protocol, and ports.
Management and Monitoring
Management is available through Cisco Business Dashboard with embedded probe, web interface (HTTP/HTTPS), CLI (Telnet/SSH), SNMP v1/v2c/v3, or Cisco Network Plug and Play. The switch supports RMON, syslog, port mirroring (up to 8 sources to 1 destination), sFlow, and cable diagnostics.
Stacking and High Availability
Physical stacking via front-panel ports allows connecting up to 8 switches into a single logical unit with unified management. The stack provides unified data and control plane, supports cross-stack LAG, QoS, VLAN, and port mirroring. In case of master unit failure, fast failover to standby unit occurs.
